Basically, instead of visiting a website you can subscribe and have any posts go to a file in your email called "feeds". Sort of a one stop area for any and all information that you are interested in. Examples of some feeds that I subscribe to:

- any articles relating to fibromyalgia that appear on any web page
- various newpapers
- ProHealth
- NFA

OK, so I belong to some google and Yahoo groups and they can choose to send each email sent in seperately or in a daily digest. Or we can read on site. Does that make them RSS Feeds?

Not trying to be dense, just trying to learn.

And thanks for the above info, a little bit of the muddy has been washed away.

When you are on a website or newsgroup, if it has a RSS feed there should be a symbol that is an orange square with a couple of white lines through it. The wiki link that I posted will have a picture of it.

Ooops just noticed that on a blog that I subscribe to the RSS feed button is a blue rectangle. Here is the link and if you go to the bottom of the page on the right hand side is a RSS feed button. If you click on it you will get all the new postings sent to your "feed" file in your email account.

Most RSS feed subscribe buttons are orange and usually located on the top of the page.
